Launch Highlights – New Maps, An Iconic Character
This update is dropping on the 27th of September. The release will be at:
- West coast of North America: 9 a.m.
- 12 p.m. ET on the East Coast
- GMT 5 in the U.K.
- 6 p.m. CET for our Parisian players
- Tokyo’s night-owls will be able to enjoy 2 am JST on the 16th of February
Players will explore four interesting multiplayer maps before diving into the Halloween-themed content. The newcomers are ‘La Casa’, a core mode map, and the adrenaline fueled ‘Fight’, a brand-new addition to the Gunfight Map roster. The return of Call of Duty 2’s (2007) ‘Koro Village,’ and Modern Warfare 2019’s ‘King’ will delight nostalgic players.
Spawn, the legendary character, will be the star of the new Call of Duty battle pass. Spawn, a monumental collaboration between Todd McFarlane and Activision, will dominate the battle pass. He will appear at both the beginning (tier 0), as well as the end (tier 100). Al Simmons is another new face that debuts with Spawn.
Call of Duty has always been a game that is primarily about its arsenal. The first day of the game, players will have access to a “TR76 Geist” assault weapon, an “ISO 9mm SMG” and a “Dual Kamas melee weapon.” Later in the season the “Doom Chainsaw” may also appear.
That’s not it! Blackcell, the exclusive upgrade, promises more Operator unlocks as well as 1,100 Call of Duty points. Season 2 will see Diablo, Skeletor and Evil Dead operators join the season, adding even more depth to “Haunting’s” chilling theme.
The Haunting Midseason Extravaganza
The mid-season is the time for the real show. The “Haunting” event is set to transform the Warzone 2.0 maps Al Mazrah, and Vondel into eerie battlegrounds. Zombie Royale and Halloween-themed features will send chills down even the toughest players’ spines.
Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t fall behind. The haunting spirit that has engulfed the gaming world will see players’ favorite modes enhanced with spine-chilling features, keeping them on edge.
The “Soul Capture Event” will be a unique event that runs across both games. It turns fallen players into highly coveted Souls. Players can unlock exclusive items by collecting souls and selling them. There’s no excuse to not get involved with the action when you can earn daily rewards for logging in.
Gearing up for Future Adventures
Fans should be aware that Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 marks the end this chapter. But fret not! Modern Warfare 3 will seamlessly transfer all your hard-earned unlocks, purchases and achievements to the game. It launches on November 10th.
Modern Warfare 2’s and Warzone 2.0 Season 6’s dedication to improving the Call of Duty experience is evident. It promises a gaming experience that is unmatched, as it combines action and haunting themes.
