CEO James McDonald said, “The high-grade results achieved from step-out drilling in the Northeast Zone is further testimony to the success of our multi-phase drill program. Since confirming our initial NI 43-101 silver resource in 2010, we established one continuous zone of silver mineralization from the Pit (Discovery) Zone through the Southwest Zone. This zone remains open to the east, west and to depth. We continue to encounter high-grade silver intercepts over widespread areas of silver mineralization in the Northeast Zone, some 700-metres outside of the current NI 43-101 resource. We expect these developments will play a critical factor in sharply boosting the size of our existing silver resource as we prepare for our updated independent NI 43-101 resource study.”

President/CEO James McDonald said, “We are extremely pleased with the current drill results. Step-out drilling returned multiple intercepts of high-grade silver mineralization in the Northeast Zone, which sits 700 metres outside of and on strike to the company’s established 43-101 pit resource. Equally critical to the current resource expansion program, hole DH 68 drilled in the Southwest expansion zone of the pit resource, returned widespread zones of medium- to high-grade silver, showing excellent continuity of silver mineralization with the pit resource on strike and to depth, extending more than 50 metres outside the pit resource.”

Kootenay reports Mexico Silver Assays as high as 264.7 g/t over 9m

April 4th, 2011

Kootenay Gold Inc TSXV:KTN announced drill results from its Promontorio Silver Project in Sonora State, Mexico. Assays include 145.4 g/t silver over 7.5 metres, 264.7 g/t over 9 metres, 205.5 g/t over 3 metres, 63.8 g/t over 6 metres (including 157 g/t over 3 metres) and 91.3 g/t over 51 metres (including 188 g/t over 18 metres).

CEO James McDonald said, “We are very pleased and enthused with current results from the 10,000-metre drilling program and believe our objective of building Promontorio into a significant mining entity is coming into focus. We are consistently hitting high and medium grade silver mineralization to the northeast of our pit resource, expanding the North East Zone to over 300 metres, which is double the strike length of our current 43-101 silver resource. Moreover, widely spaced step out holes have encountered multiple, high grade silver intercepts confirming the exciting upside potential of the entire one kilometre long mineralized corridor at Promontorio.”

Kootenay reports Mexico Assays up to 58.6 g/t Silver over 24m

February 4th, 2011

Kootenay Gold Inc TSXV:KTN announced assays from its Promontorio Silver Project in Sonora State, Mexico. Highlights include 38.8 g/t silver and 0.55 g/t gold over 70.5 metres (including 58.6 g/t silver and 1.15 g/t gold over 24 metres), 14 g/t silver over 58.5 metres (including 39.3 g/t silver over 10.5 metres), 112 g/t silver over 3 metres, 108.8 g/t silver over 16.5 metres, and 149 g/t silver and 1.1 g/t gold over 10.5 metres.

CEO James McDonald stated, “Our goal from the outset of the current 10,000-metre drill program has been to expand silver mineralization outside of the existing 43-101 pit resource. We are very pleased and excited with results from the current 15 holes. Not only have we dramatically extended silver mineralization to the NE and SW of the Discovery Zone, we are achieving consistent grades and continuity within areas of widespread silver mineralization not yet calculated into the current 43-101 resource. Adding a second diamond drill rig will allow us to drill-test a host of existing holes at depth that bottomed out in mineralization, which is expected to play a major factor in further boosting the size of our growing silver resource at Promontorio.”
