European Goldfields Limited TSX:EGU announced drill results from its Piavitsa target in northern Greece. Assays include 1.63 g/t gold and 34.66 g/t silver over 27 metres, 3.48 g/t gold and 83.93 g/t silver over 25.9 metres (including 7.88 g/t gold and 199.04 g/t silver over 10.9 metres), 4.33 g/t gold and 61.83 g/t silver over 21 metres, and 5.42 g/t gold and 130.26 g/t silver over 13 metres (including 8.64 g/t gold and 196.48 g/t silver over 8 metres).
VP Projects and Exploration Patrick Forward commented, “We are delighted that sampling has confirmed our interpretation of broader mineralised zones with higher grade cores. The indication from soils that mineralisation also extends along some six kilometres of strike in addition to the two kilometres indicated by historic drilling highlights the potential of this exciting target. Our priority now is to carry out an intensive drilling campaign aimed at defining resources at the earliest opportunity. Exploration work in Greece is also aimed at drill testing our significant porphyry targets and this is also covered within the exploration budget.”
