While drilling and geophysics continue on its Garland nickel-copper project in Labrador, Equitas Resources TSXV:EQT released a progress report on October 20. Located 30 kilometres southeast of Voisey’s Bay, the 23,386-hectare property has been undergoing modern exploration techniques for the first time.
So far four holes totalling 1,515 metres have tested four of the targets identified by an airborne VTEM-Plus survey. Some 173 samples have been sent to the lab for analysis. Meanwhile a Crone large-loop pulse electromagnetic survey has tested seven of 12 VTEM anomalies. Drill results and geophysics data are pending.
With over $2 million raised in September and another $1 million in the first tranche of another private placement earlier this month, Equitas plans to continue the season’s campaign as long as weather conditions allow.
“We are satisfied with the progress of work completed to date and await full results from the current program,” said VP of exploration and Voisey’s veteran Everett Makela. “Despite a very tough financing climate, Equitas is well-funded to execute on our plans to evaluate all anomalies identified on the Garland property.”
