Belo Sun Mining Corp BSX:CA announced results from its Volta Grande Gold Project in Para State, Brazil. Assay highlights include 2.16 g/t gold over 20 metres, 1.23 g/t over 10.3 metres, 2.18 g/t over 12 metres, 0.97 g/t over 31 metres (including 2.27 g/t over 8.79 metres), 0.96 g/t over 20.1 metres, 1.45 g/t over 16 metres, 1.59 g/t over 46 metres, 1.16 g/t over 29 metres, 1.76 g/t over 13.5 metres and 1.54 g/t over 21 metres.

President/CEO Mark Eaton commented, “Our decision to re-examine and assay the 40,000 meters of historical drill core in light of the new geological model is yielding very positive results and is adding significant grade mineralization in areas that were previously modeled as waste in the PEA conceptual pit. The positive drill results on the eastern extent of the deposit demonstrate that mineralization continues in that direction, which bodes well for the 2011 drill campaign.”
