Vantex Resources Ltd VAX:CA announced assays from the Moriss Zone on its Galloway Property in Quebec. Highlights include 4.55 g/t gold over 10.5 metres (including 14.87 g/t over 3 metres), 11.6 g/t over 5.4 metres (including 22.73 g/t over 2.65 metres), 8.21 g/t over 22.5 metres (including 31.33 g/t over 3 metres) and 13.93 g/t over 6 metres (including 30.99 g/t over 1.5 metres).
VP Business Development Wayne Carlon tells ResourceClips.com, “We acquired the Galloway project in the latter part of 2009 and quickly realized that it was the biggest potential for our company. So we confirmed the pre-43-101 historic drill holes there and decided to expand on that—looking specifically at the Galloway pitch vein for open pit potential.
“We raised some capital and started a 10,000-metre drill campaign this summer. We did a few exploratory holes going out and one hole 600 metres west of the Galloway showing—the Moriss Zone—turned up some pretty large intercepts.
“We see the results of further drilling in today’s press release, and we’re very excited about it. In particular because if you look southwest there are historic drill holes—86-01 and 86-04—that show some large intercepts deeper down. So what we want to do now is step back and bring in a consulting geologist to take a look at the data and do the geophysics, so that we can figure out how this ore body goes and to see if it’s continuous.
“We’re in elephant country; some very large deposits have been found here. So we’re trying to find out if we have the next big deposit in that geography. We’re extremely encouraged, because now we not only do we have open-pit potential, we also we have the potential for underground,” Carlon concludes. “We’ve increased our potential dramatically, and now drilling needs to be done to find out what that potential is.”
