Bayfield reports Ontario Silver Assays up to 360 g/t over 10m

Bayfield Ventures Corp BYV:CA announced drill results from the North Gold Zone of its Burns Block Property in the Rainy River District of north-western Ontario. Assays include 12.88 g/t gold and 39.26 g/t silver over 9 metres (including 31.71 g/t gold and 50.23 g/t silver over 3 metres), 35.93 g/t gold and 359.65 g/t silver over 10 metres (including 63.9 g/t gold and 1760 g/t silver over 1 metre). Rainy River has an indicated resource of 2.37 million ounces gold at 1.3 g/t, and an inferred resource of 2.66 million ounces at 1.2 g/t.

CEO Jim Petitt told, “Basically what we’ve done here with this group of holes—which was a fence line along the northern part of our property, heading west to east—is just to identify the extension of the potential open pit coming across our ground.

“Things are very hopeful. What really was the game changer for us was hitting that high grade. That was a bonus. And I hope we hit more, because these high-grade shoots that are oriented west-southwest, diagonally across the main structure—are on the Rainy River side of the property. And I think we probably will, because there seems to be quite a few of them. As we move to the east, I wouldn’t be surprised if we do hit more.”
