Avion reports Mali Gold Assays up to 11.25 g/t over 10.1m

Avion Gold Corporation AVR:CA announced assays of its Dioulafoundou Zone on the Tabakoto Mining Concession, Mali. Highlights include 5.89 g/t over 1.2 metres, 11.25 g/t gold over 10.1 metres, 16.16 g/t over 1.6 metres, 29.89 g/t over 7.2 metres, 12.18 g/t over 2.7 metres and 11.35 g/t over 12.8 metres. Dioulafoundou has an indicated resource of 83,400 ounces gold at a 1 g/t cut off, and 19,900 ounces gold inferred.

Investor Relations Manager Michael McAllister told, “The results were better than what we expected and we are very pleased with them. As [President/CEO] John Begeman has said, this is a game changer for Avion. It gives us the opportunity to mine higher grades than in the past.

“This deposit provides us with a year or more’s worth of possibility of mill feed while we transition from open pit in the Segala area to underground in the Tabokoto and Segala areas. It provides us with more ore-feed and back-pocket resources as we move forward.”
