Helio Resource Corp HRC:CA announced assay results for its SMP Gold Project in the Lupa Goldfields, southwest Tanzania. Highlights include 7.2 g/t gold over 2 metres, 3.3 g/t over 2 metres, 4.7 g/t over 2 metres, 3.1 g/t over 2 metres and 2.4 g/t over 2 metres. Helio anticipates releasing an initial NI 43-101 compliant resource statement for the Porcupine and Kenge targets later this month.
The SMP Gold Project consists of six historic gold mines, including the New Saza Mine which was Tanzania’s second largest goldmine, producing 270,000 ounces gold at an average grade of 7.5g/t between 1939 and 1956.
