QMI:CA announced assay results from its Lebel property in Lebel Township, Ontario. Highlights include 208.2 g/t gold over 1.1 metres, 19.5 g/t over 5.2 metres, 49.9 g/t over 2.7 metres and 1.9 g/t Au over 59.5 metres. The Lebel property hosts the past-producing Bidgood Mine that produced 165,000 ounces of gold from 1934-51.
President/CEO Charles E. Page told ResourceClips.com, “There hasn’t been any exploration on this property since the 1950s, and we see the potential there to increase interest by drilling it along strike into depth. The results we’re getting back really show two things: the potential for high grade underground results, as well as wider widths for potential open pit.”
“We see the Bidgood property providing about a million ounces of gold for us,” Page continued. “The recent assay results have exceeded our expectations for the property. We didn’t anticipate those kinds of grades. Kirkland Lake is regarded as a very high grade camp historically and these results confirm that. There’s a lot more gold left there that’s been overlooked in the past.”
